I recommend Woody’s latest, ‘Blue Jasmine’
I recommend Blue Jasmine, Woody Allen’s latest drama (3 ½ stars on my 0-5 scale). While it might be considered a commentary on the financial collapse of the last decade, or societal and class divisions, at its core it’s a great character study and a wonderful vehicle for Cate Blanchett to show off her talents. In fact, she so totally owns the film that we lose a bit of interest when it’s not focused solely on her. Still, it’s one of Allen’s best dramas of recent years, with some comedy thrown in too.
