A cinematic god among children

Seeing 2001: A Space Odyssey at Regal Pointe Orlando IMAX on Friday was sort of like visiting a museum that has a single Leonardo da Vinci painting and 20 finger paintings by children.

(The digitally remastered masterpiece is in limited release this week on IMAX screens around the country to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Yes, the movie is letterboxed to preserve its original aspect ratio, and, yes, the intermission is included. Check out my article from earlier this year.)
