Polk Theatre

The Polk Theatre opened in 1928 in Lakeland, Florida. One of west-central Florida’s two remaining grand movie palaces designed in the “Mediterranean atmospheric” style — the other being the Tampa Theatre — the Polk Theatre still entertains Floridians with movies, live theatre, live organ accompaniment and its groundbreaking “chilled air” system.
