What’s new at MeierMovies?

Some of you know I’ve been doing a lot of traveling over the last couple of months. You may also know I’ve been battling some health issues. (Don’t worry — I’ll be OK.) So I’m depressingly unfamiliar with many recent releases, including Snowden, Pete’s Dragon and others I had wanted to see.

Nevertheless, I’m working to catch up and have, over the last week or two, posted several reviews and articles both here and at www.orlandoweekly.com. For instance, I recommend The People vs. Fritz BauerSully, Our Little Sister and The Beatles: Eight Days a Week — The Touring Years. But I do NOT recommend The Hollars and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates. Also, look for my upcoming reviews of Denial and The Birth of a Nation, two of the most highly anticipated films of the year.

I’ve also been covering Orlando’s Global Peace Film Festival. If you’re in Central Florida, you should check it out. It runs through Sunday, September 25. Lastly, the Enzian Theater’s South Asian Film Festival is nearly upon us. It runs September 1-3 and is always worth a visit. (Look for my “Selection” blog in next week’s Orlando Weekly.)
