A huge thanks to Nelson Beverly and everyone else associated with the 2014 Love Your Shorts Film Festival in Sanford, Florida. They treated filmmakers, judges and the public with great respect, and it was an honor to be one of the judges. We selected Spy vs. Guy as the best of the fest, but there were several other fine films that deserve mentioning, including Red Snow, Killer Kart and The Committee. Competition among the individual blocks was so competitive that a few of my personal favorites didn’t even make it to the “best of” block, including Emit, Loot, Deadbook and Capture. I also enjoyed again seeing TL Westgate’s TechSquad, which I had the pleasure of reporting on during last year’s 48 Hour Film Project in Orlando.
