Comparing the foreign films of 2013
Broken Circle Breakdown (3 ¼ stars on my 0-5 scale) is better than Blue is the Warmest Color (2 ½ stars). It’s more original, tighter, and displays more mature and effective storytelling. But The Great Beauty (4 ½ stars) is still by far the best foreign-language film of the year. See my review of it here.
